Note to self:
Don't wind yourself up over minor or non-existent issues. It's a waste of space and time. The Doctor would not approve of such abuses.

Things I’m learning about post-grad...

Always make a week-plan.
I don’t know why I’ve never done this before, but it’s the most useful thing ever to stop me from having panic attacks. If I just write out everything that needs doing this week, then assign a day or morning/afternoon to each activity then I have a much more calm and realistic idea of what the week is going to be. It’s really useful! It stops that, ‘ahhhhh! I have so much to do and no idea where to begiiiin’ feeling.

Just keep going.
Keep reading. Keep writing. If you can’t keep going with what you’re reading right now, move two inches to the left and you will find something else that also needs reading under your fingers. Read that instead. Don’t stop, don’t get distracted. If you’re writing, at 200 words, keep going until you get to 500. Even if you don’t think you’re making sense any more, you might get a good idea.

I'm feeling like writing at the moment. Did some original work yesterday, being tempted by a million other fannish pursuits. Don't have time for either, anyway.

By the way, the BF's mother was really nice! And I think I passed without her hating me! Yay!

Have Danneel and Jensen got married yet? Does anyone know this? Is anyone other than me interested in my epic Danneel/Genevieve & J2 fic I keep almost-writing?

Thanks, bb! You're a peach!

I just wrote the most spastic academic sentence of my LIFE:

In Aphrodite’s Island, by Anne Salmond, the author describes the early interactions between Tahiti and Europeans and traces the construction of myth originating from both the local Tahitian myth, individual encounters and rumours, and from classical myth that was in fashion during the Neo-Classical period in which many of these encounters occurred.

I just looked at it and sighed. I'm obviously too fuzzy-brained to be writing essays today. I'm going to do some readings instead.
