It's everywhere!
I would like to preface this with two things. One, I am COMPLETELY unspoiled. Two, I want to say a big thank you to everyone in fandom who is being really considerate about spoiling.

But HOLY FUCK it's hard to avoid spoilers right now. Like, they're EVERYWHERE. You can't go two seconds right now in fandom without seeing a spoiler cut. And yes, I'm extremely grateful that (on LJ at least) those are spoiler CUTS not the actual information, but but... *flails* I really want to reeeeead them! And every time I manage to resist, I move all of about four pages down and BAM there's another one!

@_@

Meanwhile, I'm still working surprisingly hard on fic this week, there's one in particular I want to get out before S5 starts so I'm trying to hurry but it's coming out completely crap, so that's annoying. :/ And my essay is due tomorrow and only half-done. Woooo.

EDIT: My evening went... posted entry, got on twitter, got spoiled. *laughs helplessly*

EDIT EDIT: Discussion of said casting spoiler in comments. But seriously, if you're freaking out like I was, don't. It has nothing to do with the actual plot of the show.

i've been avoiding them too...but, i mean, knowing the Kirpke & co. they're probably prank spoilers anyway, like last season >.>'

gaaaaanbatte!

oh, and i'd like to share, i just got sent a massive document from my employers. wouldn't want to get lost at sea/in the mountains/in a typhoon/in the show/in town/in an earthquake or accidentally start a fire with my remote control >o<;

Oh yeah, I think that one you mentioned is just going to be a total lollerphone. I can't believe some people are all *horrified*

Thank you! I just took a 'break' for three hours watching Forest Gump.... But I'm going to have to get some serious work done tonight now. And get up early. And go to work afterward. Bleeeh.

I'm assuming this is a insurance/liability document? Because one would think that you would want to avoid those activities normally anyway... It might be smart if you can afford it (probably only once you're there) to get some travel insurance. :/

i don't really see how casting (esp guest star casting) counts as a spoiler, tbh. i mean, if that's a spoiler, you're spoiled by the title guest cast credits. spoilers are like "sam & dean's long lost brother!" or "so and so dies!" basically important backstory (like the rodney = meredith/played piano or john in Afghanistan bits of SGA which i know in great detail though i'm not up to them yet *grumblegrumble*)...mainly key plot elements or actual character details. but yeah, twitter is not a good place for hiding spoilers (and when i see 'confirmed' on a gossip blog i take it with a grain of salt). i am sorry for spoiling you! i can't help but feel a little sorry for people who don't want to be spoiled who go to conventions and get spoiled ^^;

i just watched Black Hawk Down...i want to fly fighter planes...

i think it's partly a full disclosure thing, but mainly it's a company safety manual written for children. i will have insurance in japan. travel insurance is generally for short trips, not when you're on a work visa ^^

Oh yeah, I'm not upset about this spoiler at all, it was more I'm wanting to not know things like if they've cast someone to play Lucifer. I don't care WHO they've cast to play the role, it's someone confirming that there is a specific role to PLAY that bothers me. (like, as you say, the long-lost-brother) Or something like finding out if someone who might be dead is or isn't in a coming season/episode. Don't apologise about that though! I'm GLAD I found out because everyone was talking about it so much I was going crazy with curiosity. And to be honest, that's not really something I think needs to go behind a cut. It doesn't reveal anything about the story itself.

i can't help but feel a little sorry for people who don't want to be spoiled who go to conventions and get spoiled
You can't spoiler-cut conventions! It's so true! Jared and Jensen are usually pretty good about it, but I think the writers are a little more like, 'well, if they've come to a writers panel then they probably want to know stuff about the writing of the show.... which includes the next season.' Which is why I haven't watched any of the panels. :/

Gosh I found that movie depressing and pointless. :/

I seeee. Everything has to be written for children these days! Like my old job's manual that stipulated I wasn't to sit on the floor or the rubbish bin. Thanks guys, really obvious, but just in case I needed clarification....

Oh good! :) I agree, it's much more a spoiler if "so and so is playing THIS PARTICULAR CHARACTER." I'm kinda hoping Paris will be a bad-ass angel. But I realise this is definitely not happening...I mean, I can't remember her HAVING anything other than a comic role/self-defacing in anything. O WAIT, that horror movie the Jared and Chad were in. Still, kinda comic.

OK on the topic of cast members coming and going, I stumbled across an episode tag (stupid Google results) for SGA and now I'm scared Elizabeth is going :(((((( PLEASE, NO. I am still so bummed about Ford. Ronon has his perks but...I miss Rainbow :( (have you watched past S2? I'm just on S03E01.) ....yes, I am still obsessed with SGA *g*

It was depressing :( Very sad. In many ways. But, god, the cinematography was absolutely to die for (that's why I wanted to rewatch xD). Some of those aerial shots, particularly of the Black Hawks are total gorgeousness and need to be iconed.

I hear on the wind that Paris is playing a shapeshifter who has shifted into Paris Hilton (or something along those lines) And Kirpke is all, 'I can't believe she actually agreed to play the role!'

*doesn't comment* ... I miss Rainbyoow too! I never got around to watching beyond just before the finales for season 2. But I'm pretty massively spoiled. I heard a lot of people saying things get kinda lame around S4/5 so I thought I might not continue...

Hahahaha, you're secretly one of those guys who has pictures of helicopters all over the place, aren't you! SEEEEKRITS!

*laughs at random typo explosion*

also, re your invisible statement, that is really weird, but I guess you can understand why they'd say that with a whole lot of people coming in from another country as semi-authority figures, you wouldn't want cultural misunderstandings. I probably still would interfere with that sort of thing. If just to be like, 'Um, excuse me. Don't you have something else you should be doing? o_0'

Oh, great, it's bound to be beyond misogynistic & EXTRA humiliating in that case :(

..........CRIES PLEASE DON'T LET ELIZABETH GO, PAGE. PLEASE. I LOVE HER. SHE IS AN AWESOME, POWERFUL FEMALE CHARACTER. I WANT HER TO STAY. i've heard that too, and fully expect S4 & 5 to be a sad disappointment...i mean, to be honest, a lot of the people involved in SGA at the higher levels are douches so i'm surprised the first seasons are as great as they are.

it's a recent obsession! :] i want to flyyyyyyyyyy.

Oh, I hadn't thought of it that way. Bummer. But but.... no... bummer. Someone made some comment somewhere about her being a demon whose vagina was the un-closable gates of hell, and while not being a great lover of Paris, I was like, 'Woah! crossing a line there! Show some sista-support here, people!' I really object to people treating women like they're less for having lots of sex. I don't like Paris because she's an idiot (or acts like one), not because she's a 'slut'. *grumbles and sprays some more feminism on the fandom*

SHE GETS EATED BY A T-REX! (<-lie) I always disliked Elizabeth, she's so, 'I judge you for having a different culture to me. My people will kill your leaders and steal your technology now. Hah.' But she does have some shining moments. And she's not a standard Hollywood caricature. Sorry, hun. *pets* Now I miss SGA. There needs to be more fics post S5, people got bogged down in the canon. Best thing I saw post S5 was an author just handwaving the entire finale in one sentence. Winnar.

Rly? I wonder if you'll be over that by the time you get off the plane in Japan. Otherwise just pretend you have 20/20 vision and enrol in the airforce! It'll be awesome!

I have to run away and do essay work now! Eeep! Time is running low!

I like Paris partly because she plays the dumb blonde to perfection, but - regardless of whether she's quite as self-aware as she sometimes seems - she makes a great living out of it. It's one way for women to wield power in our society. Not necessary a forward way, but nonetheless... I don't think I could ever be a real part of Supernatural fandom because it just seems to be such a hive for hardcore misogyny of the worst kind, the women being their own worst enemy kind. The other day I saw these truly unfortunate comments someone "what, women aren't a minority, we're 52% of the world's population!" just, ugh. UGH. THIS IS THE REASON WE CAN'T HAVE GOOD THINGS, YOU BRAINWASHED, PATRIARCHY-LOVING BUFFOONS. ....That said there are a lot of great fans who are vocal about the issues but it's just...I just hate that aspect of Supernatural and the fandom soooo much.

Oh I agree she has a very America(/Earth)-centric attitude towards the Pegasus Galaxy but it's not often you have an educated, powerful, in-touch-with-her-emotions-but-not-in-a-stupid-way leader who is a woman. I like fics that have Ford >.>; there should be more of those! I'm trying not to get any more spoiled than I am...been listening to A LOT of podfic though.

AHAHAHA yeah, I have no desire to fly passenger planes, ew. I could totally get my eyes fixed and join the airforce. If I wasn't a pacifist.

RUUUUUN! WOOORK! stayy......tallllk....*lonely*....no, i must sleep.

I can't believe you're able to resist watching the rest! You must have nerves of steel! Partly just to not read all the fic out there at the moment.

I will remind myself to be more careful with spoilery things to make sure such persons as yourself don't get spoiled. The internet is a very dangerous place for any spoilerphobe. 0_0
