life and adult content
Yo all.

Life continues for me, can't really access the net and stuff much coz then I have to go on elaborate history-deleting missions afterward, but the olds are away for the weekend so I've had some time to do a few things today.

+ After a brief freaky moment of threats from the Uni, my fees have been sorted out for next year. yayness. Still don't have a job or income for the holidays though. :(

+ Draft of Chapter 8 is typed up! Hoorah! Beta'ing is yet to be done, then a final edit, then it will be uuuup! Oh! oh! Exciting! Early Christmas present for all, (hopefully)!

+ My parents are lovely. Except for when they drive me INSANE.

+ I miss school, sitting around all day is boooooooooooooooring!

um, yeah, that's all that crap, really.

What I really wanted to make this post about:

RE the whole Adult content thing, one week from today I am switching this journal to explicit-adult content status. I'm waiting a week so that hopefully, the people who don't know about the changes (and here) will not panic and will have some idea what's going on.

To clarify my personal perspective about this, I have never been shy about admitting that this site has explicit sexual content on it and I don't see any reason to try and pretend that it doesn't. I genuinely don't want to have anyone exposed to stuff that they don't want to see or think about if they don't want to have that in their heads. (although it would be pretty lame of someone to miss _all_ the warnings I have lying around.)

HOWEVER! I started getting involved in explicit written porn from the age of 14, and it hasn't done me any damage (...well, apart from me being a total perv.) and I actually think that written pron is a really healthy and safe way for teenagers to get to learn about sex in a way that can't cause them any harm. Also, in my country the age of consent is 16, and I don't really have a problem with that age barrier, so if people can do it, they should be able to read about it.

As such, if you're under 18 and still want to read my fics -knowing that they contain explicit sexual content- go ahead! As said in those links, if you're logged out of LJ all you have to deal with is a warning page and then lying about your age. I'm not going to tell you to do that, because it could get me in trouble with the sex-police, it's just a matter of your own choice.

Also, if people don't want to lie to LJ (knowing how crazy they are about these things I wouldn't be all that surprised if they start tracking people's IPs and stuff in the future.) My fics are also on skyehawke (the link's in my profile if you need it), there's also an age-warning there, but I think they're less psychotic about that sort of thing over there.

If your computer has one of those porn guards or whatever that will react to this change, I am genuinely sorry if this means you won't be able to access my fic, but you'll have to take that up with your parents or whoever put the program on your computer. If it's a real problem for a number of people, please email me and I'll think about putting my stuff on another site which just has the in-text warnings. I really don't want to be putting people out by this step, but LJ is hosting me, and I think this is a fair rule to have in place.

Anyway! I didn't mean to blather, I gtg, hopefully will be posting Chapter 8 soon. (although I'll have to do that before I change the porn settings or else I think my Dad's computer's pron guard won't let me access my journal anymore! ^_^;;

Love love!

Peeji

Why don't you take a summer paper like meeee. At Canterbury there's a Korean Language (newbie level) summer paper. Unfortunately it's in the Nov-Dec slot, so you'll either have to go back in time to take it or wait till next year. ^_____^; I really shouldn't be sitting around complaining about the lack of school when I reeeeally need to revise Japanese vocab still. :/

Yeah well... I'm kinda annoyed at the whole concept of policing the internet, because I genuinely like how lawless it is. But I don't think this one is too big a deal. EXCEPT, I've been looking around a few places since they've set it up and it's boody annoying if you assert your age (while logged out) but then the journal is still all cut with warnings from top-to-foot. I HATE clicking on cuts, I like skimming things, so I don't know if that's going to work out for me or if I'm going to rebel on some dumb clause like that. :/

Are you surviving holiday-itis? Does your sanity remain in any way?

(excuse the ficjournal) because that would cost moneeeeey and i don't neeeed one. wow that's cool though. we only run 101 in 1st sem. let's practice together 8D

i found this post nicely summed up my overall thoughts on the direction things are going. i don't like that the flagging causes everything to be cut (although i STILL haven't seen it for myself - screenshot anyone?) esp. if you're on a slow speed >.>;

i mowed the lawns. it was fab~

(no worries) Except then you'd _have_ money. >_> strange though that seems. :/ Of course, you're one of those people who actually plan to pay off their loan one day. I just expect to ignore it as much as possible until I die and it disappears... Unless I get a job good enough to actually afford paying it off, (as well as a mortgage) but I don't really expect that, either.

Yeah, I saw the legal-covering side of it too. The external-user flagging thing seems a tad unnecessary though. :/ I'd give you a screen-shot but I am too logged in at the moment. Are you going to go join the yelling-at-lj bananza at [livejournal.com profile] lj_policy? I feel like LJ has become this web of insanity lately...

woot. I did dishes until I was so hot I couldn't anymore. Then I watered the garden. Soon I shall start cooking dinner for 6 people. @_@

my loan is quite small b/c scholarships paid for the first 2 1/2 years of my degree....so yeah i plan on paying every bit of it off when i'm working in japan ^^; and then if i do postgrad, scholarships ^^

idk. i understand they're just covering their arses. and they DID say that stuff wouldn't be taken seriously unless it was flagged multiple times. i'm really just waiting and seeing.

i'm not planning on joining the yelling >.<;; actually i think maybe people are taking this a tad too far. sure, a lot of us pay money for the service, but lj is comparatively pretty good at listening to its userbase....idek.

i indexed my fic....emptied the compost bin, did laundry. now i might go watch some My Chem dvds. will you be on msn anytime today~? good luck cooking D:
