Leavin, on a jet-plane...
The last week has had some of the most insane consecutive days in the history of my universe. I haven't slept properly or for long enough since Wednesday. @_@ Anthropology exam went okay, hopefully will get a decent mark for that one. Right now I'm trying not to scream at my flatmates, trying to organise packing and organise things that need to be prepared pre-leaving and all that stuff. Meanwhile I've got one of my best friends leaving the country in like, 3 hours and I've been helping her prepare and pack for the last 36 hours, so we're both completely losing our minds and fuck, I just want to crawl into a ball and cry.

Meanwhile, it's just occurred to me that not only am I going to be stuck in Tauranga for 6 weeks, I'm going to be away from my computer, only able to use my Dad's dailup-connection computer which has a PORN GUARD program on it! I'm not going to be able to access ANYTHING!!!! I don't know if it'll even let me access my LJ, so I'm letting y'all know so you don't freak if I disappear for an unknown amount of time. Don't fear though, without my internet or (possibly, if I don't find one) a job, I will be getting a lot of writing done which I hope to be able to post as soon as I get back here in the first week or so of January.

I will miss everything muchly, pray for my sanity (although not too much, preferably) and if I don't manage to visit till I get back, I hope everyone has a great holiday and Christmas/New Year, etc. Love love love love!

EDIT - Nov 27: Just popping by to say that I've finished the draft for BtS_08! Only like, 10 months later! It's all written up by hand so it's going to take me a while to type up and edit, but um, YAY, right? I'm estimating that the finished product will be about 5,000 words long, and at this point I'm really hoping that upon second read-through I'm not going to say something stupid like, 'this really needs the next scene added on the end now, instead of the scene waiting till next chapter.' coz that would be really, really stupid. Okay. I better go before my Dad spontaneously appears behind me, but all is reasonably well, save for frustration and pending RSI due to me typing out too much of the aforementioned chapter today. *looks sheepish* Ta for now!

Current Mood: fucking insane
Current Music: FAKE?

*more snuggle hugs*

I almost forgot you were taking anthropology, how did the course and exam go? Me must know......And related to that, there's some comercial on against smoking in that this doctor take an actual smokers lung and cuts it open right on screen. XD I was like "Oh COOL! Look, you can see all the sacks and....look at the tar and black stuff that been built up. Freaken sweet!!!! Cut it more" All of this whilst my friend runs to the bathroom to empty her stomach and mom commenting "Well, now we know whose definetely going into an anthropology job"

Porn Guard? For some reason that made me think of a bunch of men in armour with "Anti-porn" across their chests. I'll miss you, email me as soon as you can! Still haven't been able to rangle a "Deathly Hollows" from someone so I can finish HP, though I have found someone who has it.

Btw, I finally bought me laptop *purrs* Its so fast with wireless *resists urge to wave in face, I would lend him to you...but he's downloading smut at the moment XDDDD*

I love hugs, hugs are so niiice.

The course has been fucking FANTASTIC, it's just so, amazingly interesting. Even when you're in that, 'kill me now I am so not in the mood for lectures' space, it's still interesting. Just... thinking about how people interact and behave and how cultures evolve is .... gah, I love it. Why is it that you specifically want to be a forensic anthropologist as apposed to say, a forensic specialist, or a biologist or a medical examiner? (just out of curiosity)

I know! It's so DUMB! and strange, and ... I dunno, it seems like a really odd thing for a 53 year old man to have on his personal computer which lives in the main room of the house...

Ohhhhh, I'm so jealous! Not that I don't love my computer, she's just old and flaking out at the moment. I need to give her insides a good clean out and replace some of the scabby technology. Enjoy the smut! *hugs*

Not really sure. I enjoy anything to do with forensics as well as the sciences, but when I learned that combining forensics and anthropology in one field I just " :D Dream job!"

That, or whenever they "do the forensic anthropology thing" on something like CSI/NCIS or a more documentary crime show it interested me the most. Guess I'm fascinated by the fact that you can tell how a erson lived, parts of who they are and where they lived just from the bones.

Think the last part has to do with teh support from my family. At first it was a ballernia, then a firewoman, then a vet. Each time while they showed interest and support in it, it was just.....I dunno how to say it....tried to talk me out of it or something. But now with this one its like "Go for it!" That, and its held my interest the longest besides vet.
One of my grandfathers got me this surprisingly through forensic kit thing from the DiscoveryStore thats mean pretty neat, Mom suggested to me that she could bring home medical books from work to learn how to sketch bones, and even my science teacher is taking a special interest in what I'm working for (suggesting books and sites to read, and even pointing things out in Biology last year and Chemistry this year that has to do with anthropology)

Yay! I rambled, sorry about that. *huuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggllllllleeeee*

Do you watch that show, 'Bones'? That's like, one of my favorite shows on T.V. I don't know much about forensic anthropology in reality though. I would have thought it was used more for trying to place ancient anthropological finds like items in tombs and stuff than for crime investigation...

It's cool that your fam supports you. Are you going to have to go to a really specialized college to study that though?

Yes! That's one of my favourites too, also helped me a bit in deciding which field I wanted. "She can tell all that just from a few bones?" (That, and I totally want to be nicknamed Bones :D)

I think you can have it for both archeology and for crime investigation, though you do have to take classes in archeogecial recovery for both as well. I've been checking around, I might have to go to a specialized college later on, not quite sure though

Hi from one of your friendly lurkers.

Every now and then I dip into your LJ... read the latest and think to my-self ' Gutsy little bugger... you gotta do your Uni and all that S**t and not worry about your great story's ' Now I've just reread them and all I can think is "waaaaaaaaaa need the next chapter for BtS :D'
Seriously this is just a quick note of encouragement and good humor (after a couple of Bundie rum and cokes ... Hey it's my day off ;p) from someone who is a VERY quiet fan...and is looking forward to your next update.

Yay! *hugs all her friendly lurkers* I love lurkers so much! Especially when they briefly de-lurk! *hugs more*

I can't thank you for this comment enough. When I first read it, it cheered me up for the whole day, and now I read it again and it still cheers me up. :D Thank you for being patient with me about my slow writing, but thanks also for really wanting the next chapter!! I'm looking forward SO much to being able to publish the next chapter. I'm totally THRILLED. Thanks again!

(P.S. You aren't _that_ quiet a fan. According to my stats-counter I get a good couple of hundred visitors a month, but I only actually have comments from or am friended by about 50 or so. I at least have seen you around, so you count as one of the elite in my book!)
