Yo! Wazzup?

Feelin freaky.

Next week is the final week of classes for 2007. Eeep! I have a test on Tuesday, a test on Thursday, and a HEAP of schoolwork to do in between because all my subjects are doing, 'massive revision of the whole semester' week. Joy.

Meanwhile, all said school work is being largely ignored in the face of the chaos of a full-on writing spree. Okay well, maybe not full-on. When it's full on I end up wiring like, 3,000 words iin one day, and I haven't allowed myself time for that yet, but I've been writing a good 500 words or so most days for the last week and a bit. Spifftastic! Unfortunately for all my loverly readers, this hasn't really been focussed into one area like it perhaps should be, (i.e. BtS_08) as all the not-writing I've been doing since like, May, has meant that I have ten million and one ideas which have been on the back-burner for ages and now are all clamering for my attention. BtS has been getting the majority of attention though, so don't kiell me! I've put about 1,000 words into chapter 8. (don't have an exact count because my computer is dying and nearly crashes if I even suggest opening Word. I'm writing chapter 8 by hand for now.) However it's very, very rough. On the advice of Sean Connery in Finding Forrester, I'm doing a first draft without thinking too much about making it, 'good', just writing with my heart, not my head, which means that editing is going to take a while when I'm done. :/

Other projects include a teeny bit of work on Dry My Tears, a short bandslash gift-fic for mimei, and hold your breath people, an original fic. @_@ EEE! I don't know about anyone else, but this really, really excites me. To explain a little, I'm not one of those writers who has millions of ideas for Fanfic but none for originial stuff, if anything it would be the other way around, I currently have about 15 original novels in some stage of planning. Anywhere from, 'Idea - one page of explanation' to entire notebooks filled with about 200 pages of notes, ideas, art, scene cuts and anything else I can think of. The problem at the moment is that I don't think my writing skills are good enough to do those stories justice. However, about a month ago I had an idea for a story which I feel that I might be able to manage, and which isn't so close to my heart that said heart will be broken if I fuck up. So yeah, I got started on that today. I'm not going to publish this one as I go though, it will be posted when it's done. I'm only wanting it to be a short story though, maybe around 20,000-30,000 words. I hope. >_>;;

Writing is a bit of a wacky experience at the moment, as I mentioned above, my computer is rather sick, and it only gets sicker every time I try and open up Microsoft Word, (to the point where this process can literally take about 10 minutes), so I'm trying out all sorts of alternatives. As I said, BtS_08 is being hand-written, but mimei's fic is being written in Semagic, and my Origi-fic is being written in gmail. 8| I don't know how these various systems are going to work at the moment, right now none are perfect and I miss Word :( (never thought I'd miss that retarded program!) I don't suppose anyone knows of any very small, downloadable, easy function word processor with a spell-check, word counter and the ability to have more than one window open at the same time? (<- only real problem with Semagic). I would use notepad, but the no spellcheck or word counter is a real bummer and I'd have to keep switching between things to check everything. Anyway! Not important!

What else is going on? Well, I've just finished watching the first season of Stargate Atlantis. It's funny, I'd seen one random episode aaaaages ago, and abandoned it as a waste of time, but watching it from the start meant that I got a very different feel about it. I mean, the acting is often still terrible, and the scripts, sets and storylines can grate a little, especially things like, EVERYONE IN SPACE IS WHITE! And, ALL CULTURES ARE THE SAME! (relatively, unless they're making a point about some specific difference). But overall these things are just ignorable in the face of the total cuteness of the show. Yeah, you heard me, I think it's cute. Cute. CUTE. It makes me feel all fuzzy. Which is odd, but hey.

Oooh! Oooh! Hey! This is actually relevant! I'm going to see my parents from the 1st-8th of November, then back for exams till the 18th, then going BACK to see the olds on the 19th of Nov till December 28ish. (Really long story as how all that managed to happen!) So if I don't update more before all that happens, that's where I am and I maaay not be around much. (which is just sooo unusual these days, isn't it!? -_-;;) But who knows, I may be around more. I just won't have access to my own computer, is all. I will be spending Christmas with the parents AND one of my brothers, which is pretty sweet, (my two brothers don't really care about Christmas so I haven't had them around for it for four years) so yeah, I'm vuuuury excited. Yeeey!

Alright, I'm going to bugger off now, I need to start looking at homework.
