Day Three – July 11th, 2008 [Words: 593 today / 2,771 total]
Earlier:
Fuck my brain is already so sick of writing. *pouts* Got about ten words done so far. Alriiiight! Gotta do Beta duty today for mimei as well. Also, today is last day of freedom before work on weekend then start of uni again, so my brain is trying to be all, “WHAT ARE ALL THE THINGS YOU SHOULD BE DOING?” Even though... I’m pretty sure there’s nothing... *freaks out on her corner*
Also, man, I had kind of forgotten how much freaking planning goes into making a story work from start to finish. Because I’ve been setting things up for so long in DMTs, I’ve kind of been able to just cruise, but now I’ve got to look really hard at what events have to occur at the end and how I need to specifically build up to them and it’s all... HARD WORK! gah!
10pm. Note to self. If you’re stuck trying to write a follow-up to a sentence, if it’s not critical, delete the sentence and write something else entirely, it’ll save you time.
11pm 382 words. Fucking HELL the ensemble cast in the Anita Blake storyline is a bitch to deal with! I actually feel a little bit more respect for LKH after having to deal with all of them. No wonder entire books go with barely a mention of some of them. I’ve got them all practically sharing a room at the moment and it’s a PAIN. You either have every one mentioned and have no meaningful interaction between anyone, or you just mention a few and it’s like, “Oh, just ignore all those main-characters lined up against the wall, they’re just window-dressing until they have their angst-spotlight.” @_@
11:38pm 593 words. ARG! Storyline consistency? WHAT FUCKING CONSISTENCY!? *headdesks self to death* I think I’m giving up just slightly short for the night. I has no brainzz.
Day Four – July 12th, 2008 [Words: 0 today / 2,771 total]
Fuck day.
Day was 4 hours sleep then up at 8:30 to get to work by 10. Eight hour shift. Straight to going-away party for friend. (the kind you can’t miss) left party at 9:30, (was tired enough to leave at 8:30 but had to wait for bus.) home by 10ish. Read then went to sleep. (so that I could survive 6-hour shift next day.)
Day Five – July 13th, 2008 [Words: 901 today, 3,672 total]
Ooo, that’s a new one, spelt it Coldemort this time. Twice!
I really wanted to just go to sleep tonight but since I used up the spare words I had from Day 2 last night, I had to get something, anything done otherwise I’d just keep going with never writing after work and this whole project would be a big, fat fail. After starting and stopping a bit I got into a groove and got about 600 words in maybe 30 minutes. Can’t complain! Could have kept going but found a good place to stop and I really want to get a good sleep tonight. yay.
