Killing basic accounts without telling anyone?

KILLING BASIC ACCOUNTS?!?

I realise a shit-load of the serious LJers are paid accounts, so it doesn't really affect them, but to be honest I really got sick of them being like, 'oh, I don't really care about killing off basic accounts'. Well you know what!?! I FUCKING CARE. I have a basic account. If anyone I know wanted to join LJ, they would get a basic account. I think ads are UGLY, and I DON'T WANT THEM IN MY FACE. I am also POOR and don't want to give SUP any of my money unless they sort themselves out.

I don't get, is why the new management is ceaselessly ranting about how LJ is this wonderful, thriving business and community, and then after owning it for what, 3 months? Cuts out one of the key aspects that has served to _create_ said thriving business/community. THAT actually makes NO FUCKING BUSINESS SENSE. THAT is IDIOTIC. You would have to have been HIT REPETITIVELY ON THE HEAD with a BRICK to think that makes sense.

As for not telling us, I mean, come on. This community is not solely populated by idiots. You think they won't notice that you've been spamming our flists or emails or whatever with nothing-posts about nothing, and then you just slip this one under the door and hope people will actually swallow that you just kinda thought we wouldn't care? For FUCKS SAKE.

This is pretty much it for me, I'm starting work on my web page as soon as I have a moment. (Screw other LJ-alternatives, this is just going to happen again.) I'll keep this journal unless I'm forced to get rid of it, but my main base of operations will move as soon as possible.
