A friend of mine who is a massive Bro* and loves this show came over to watch it with me, because his internet is only working on dial-up pointed out that there is no way they won't be back together again by next episode but... NO! I'M OFFICIALLY FREAKING OUT!

AND ALSO, NO CASTIEL, YOU MAY NOT HAVE DEAN'S FUCKING AMULET! THAT IS AS CLOSE TO 'PROPERTY OF SAM WINCHESTER' AS WE'RE ALLOWED TO GET.

*edit: I just realised that 'bro' comment could sound racist. It's not, it makes sense if you know the guy. Also bro has sorta different connotations in NZ than in the states. So yeah, I just wanted to add this in case people thought I am a shit-head.

dies! just watched while waiting for my bags to arrive. at first i was having this visceral OMFG NOOOO reaction (you're glad about the God part though, right? you predicted that one) but a few seconds later i decided even though dramatically it was an odd scene, it's probably a great way to move the plot along at this point (yknow like how the first season had the 'searching for father' arc...not that that was a great arc, but this one might be pretty good, idk)

still i add to the WTFing! WTF! NUUUU. poor Dean's wonky characterisation...

Bags! mimei in osaka! I do see your point, and I think there are a lot of people who are saying, 'It's good that they're doing this now so we can get through the boys dealing with their angst sooner and move out the other side.' But.... I said about half-way through S4 that if Season 5 was just an elongated version of Sam and Dean's relationship falling apart I don't think I'll be able to handle it. I just feel like, we've already had a season of brother angst, I really don't need another one, but I don't have confidence in Kirpke healing this rift in any hurry at all. And I worry about it becoming the Dean Show. Bleh. We'll see, I guess.

I'm glad about the God part because I hate the angel's perspective on God. If nothing else, it's very Old Testament. Which is fine but, if you're going to be old testament then make sure people know. I dunno, I can see that it's very deliberately made to communicate to a young, post-Christian society's views on God, but I really object to it. So, I'm glad at the idea of them having an option that isn't either God Doesn't Exist, or God Is a Shitty God Who Doesn't Care. However, we'll see if they pull it off. I remain sceptical.

Dean's characterisation is all over the place! But I think he does feel all over the place, like his definition of his relationship with Sam has been totally changed. :/ I hope they hug lots soon, 4 serious.

:D i remember you saying that. it's really hard to know where it's going right now... but i doubt (sadly, very sadly) that it'll turn into the Dean show. if anything, Sam's the most interesting character right now, being a demon blood junkie and all. then again, Spn doesn't have a very good history of being able to follow both Sam and Dean separately...darn. and yeah, i don't want another season of brother angst...but i think the way they did the "previously on" for this episode they really highlighted the rift between Sam & Dean...so, yeah, your point definitely stands *pets the peeji*

hey but the angels are kinda wrong in this show! i like Dean's ~theological~ points, i gotta admit, being of the Nietzschean God Is Dead school, so i like that Spn uses that...and tbh pulling God off? not easy, not easy at all. (maybe PARIS WILL BE GOD. OMG THAT WOULD BE SO WRONG AND SO HILAR.)
