1. I just watched Billy Elliot. This movie always makes me cry and fills me with OVERWHELMING LOVE AND JOY.

2. Someone really needs to write a Billy Elliot J2 AU where the other boy is Michael (the gay best-friend) and instead of Billy/J being straight he's well... not. Because that would be ADORABLE AND AWESOME. Especially if there were bits while the Billy-J was at school, because of course the sex part at 11 wouldn't really go. And after the heart-break of separating when he left. OH! LOVE!

3. Uni is stressing me out but I only have two more weeks before the pressure is off and I can finally finish some of these fics that are hovering about.

4. My parents, especially my Dad, suck. If fact, pretty much just my Dad sucks. He was 'kidding around' the other day, making a random off-colour joke about lesbians being stoned to death in Muslim countries, (which was, to be fair, just a random fly-away comment at first,) but THEN he got sidetracked and started going ON about how I would only get stoned with rocks half the size of the lesbian's rocks (because I'm only HALF gay, you see?) thinking this was the funniest thing ever.


....... Yes, Dad, telling your daughter about the kind of hate-crime she might be expected to experience if the people around her started judging her based on a different moral code is REALLY FUCKING FUNNY. I think my Mum was kind of horrified.

My Dad is a really un-bigoted Christian, 90% of the time, it's just he's the kind of guy who deals with personal strife my making off-colour jokes, (I do it too, actually). Unfortunately, this is making me feel like I just don't want to talk to him at all until he has grown so used to the Bi thing that he doesn't even think about it. Fuck it's uncomfortable.

Anyway, that just pissed me off and I wanted to write it down so hopefully in about 10 years I can look back on this and laugh.

I knew this would really piss you off, and to be honest I'm kind of grateful, because I think there's a limit to how angry you can get with your own family/friends before you have to shut it off to protect your relationship, and I think this DESERVES some outrage, but I can't really be the one to produce it. *snuggles her outraged mimei*

It takes a lot of shit to offend me, but it always seems its very easy for the parents to slice me up with any ignorant/hateful comment. You mentioned he was Catholic? You should have let him known if you were Catholic you were pretty much persecuted anywhere until later in its religious years. So I'm sure he would have had stones thrown at him too.

My Dad is actually an Anglican (and so am I, sort of,) and unfortunately there really is no point at all getting into a debate with him about it. Because he's very well-read on both arguments from within the Christian debate, and I'm on one side and he's on the other. Anyway, it's just bloody awkward and embarrassing and irritating.

Even Anglicans faced religious prejudice. Basically....if you are religious whatever faith you are has faced some war, or bigotry. It can be crazy. I suppose I listen to my parents, but where we differ is what shaped me in becoming an independent character. I'll make my own choices, ergo my own mistakes.

You will laugh. It sounds like my dad. Instead of taking my gay lifestyle seriously, he makes it a joke. Saying inappropriate things a lot of the times. It's just his way of dealing with it, I think. I usually don't bother with getting angry, because in all honesty, it's better than condemning me for it. Maybe in time, he'll realize how ignorant he was and apologize. But then again, maybe not. Don't let it get you in a huff. I'm sure he still loves you. :)

I guess you're right, it could be much, much worse. I should be grateful he didn't want to disown me or something.

Meanwhile I will just think a lot about kicking him in the head. (and it's not like I didn't think about that before, anyway... XD)
