Well, yes, but according to Ruby, Sam doesn't actually NEED the blood. (Although we've yet to see evidence of this other than the famous Cabinet Incident.)

lol i think that's just another plot hole. i mean if we look at Cas there's really nothing of his vessel present other than his body, yknow.
