It's everywhere!

I would like to preface this with two things. One, I am COMPLETELY unspoiled. Two, I want to say a big thank you to everyone in fandom who is being really considerate about spoiling.

But HOLY FUCK it's hard to avoid spoilers right now. Like, they're EVERYWHERE. You can't go two seconds right now in fandom without seeing a spoiler cut. And yes, I'm extremely grateful that (on LJ at least) those are spoiler CUTS not the actual information, but but... *flails* I really want to reeeeead them! And every time I manage to resist, I move all of about four pages down and BAM there's another one!

@_@

Meanwhile, I'm still working surprisingly hard on fic this week, there's one in particular I want to get out before S5 starts so I'm trying to hurry but it's coming out completely crap, so that's annoying. :/ And my essay is due tomorrow and only half-done. Woooo.

EDIT: My evening went... posted entry, got on twitter, got spoiled. *laughs helplessly*

EDIT EDIT: Discussion of said casting spoiler in comments. But seriously, if you're freaking out like I was, don't. It has nothing to do with the actual plot of the show.

Oh, great, it's bound to be beyond misogynistic & EXTRA humiliating in that case :(

..........CRIES PLEASE DON'T LET ELIZABETH GO, PAGE. PLEASE. I LOVE HER. SHE IS AN AWESOME, POWERFUL FEMALE CHARACTER. I WANT HER TO STAY. i've heard that too, and fully expect S4 & 5 to be a sad disappointment...i mean, to be honest, a lot of the people involved in SGA at the higher levels are douches so i'm surprised the first seasons are as great as they are.

it's a recent obsession! :] i want to flyyyyyyyyyy.

Oh, I hadn't thought of it that way. Bummer. But but.... no... bummer. Someone made some comment somewhere about her being a demon whose vagina was the un-closable gates of hell, and while not being a great lover of Paris, I was like, 'Woah! crossing a line there! Show some sista-support here, people!' I really object to people treating women like they're less for having lots of sex. I don't like Paris because she's an idiot (or acts like one), not because she's a 'slut'. *grumbles and sprays some more feminism on the fandom*

SHE GETS EATED BY A T-REX! (<-lie) I always disliked Elizabeth, she's so, 'I judge you for having a different culture to me. My people will kill your leaders and steal your technology now. Hah.' But she does have some shining moments. And she's not a standard Hollywood caricature. Sorry, hun. *pets* Now I miss SGA. There needs to be more fics post S5, people got bogged down in the canon. Best thing I saw post S5 was an author just handwaving the entire finale in one sentence. Winnar.

Rly? I wonder if you'll be over that by the time you get off the plane in Japan. Otherwise just pretend you have 20/20 vision and enrol in the airforce! It'll be awesome!

I have to run away and do essay work now! Eeep! Time is running low!

I like Paris partly because she plays the dumb blonde to perfection, but - regardless of whether she's quite as self-aware as she sometimes seems - she makes a great living out of it. It's one way for women to wield power in our society. Not necessary a forward way, but nonetheless... I don't think I could ever be a real part of Supernatural fandom because it just seems to be such a hive for hardcore misogyny of the worst kind, the women being their own worst enemy kind. The other day I saw these truly unfortunate comments someone "what, women aren't a minority, we're 52% of the world's population!" just, ugh. UGH. THIS IS THE REASON WE CAN'T HAVE GOOD THINGS, YOU BRAINWASHED, PATRIARCHY-LOVING BUFFOONS. ....That said there are a lot of great fans who are vocal about the issues but it's just...I just hate that aspect of Supernatural and the fandom soooo much.

Oh I agree she has a very America(/Earth)-centric attitude towards the Pegasus Galaxy but it's not often you have an educated, powerful, in-touch-with-her-emotions-but-not-in-a-stupid-way leader who is a woman. I like fics that have Ford >.>; there should be more of those! I'm trying not to get any more spoiled than I am...been listening to A LOT of podfic though.

AHAHAHA yeah, I have no desire to fly passenger planes, ew. I could totally get my eyes fixed and join the airforce. If I wasn't a pacifist.

RUUUUUN! WOOORK! stayy......tallllk....*lonely*....no, i must sleep.

...also, if the NZAF actually had planes.
