Okay so, there I was, innocently sitting in my lounge, reading a book while my parents watched the news, when suddenly the normal, bland news presenter says, "Harry Potter and the Naked Wand may no longer be simply the fantasy of female fans-"

I AM SO NOT KIDDING.


I just STARED at the screen, my brain being like, "HOLYSHITWHATTHEFUCKOMGBBQ CRAP CRAP CRAP! THE ALIENS ARE COMING, MY BRAIN IS EXPLODING!? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!"

The presenter, -who, seriously, I don't know how he read that line with a straight face- went on to explain that Dan Radcliffe is going to be in a strange play with nuuuuude scenes and seeeeeexx scenes. The play sounds disturbing and hot, Dan is kind of... naked, which I find strangely disturbing (he is only 17, and I have been trying to force myself not to lust after the kid for years), but I'm sure all those bloody people out there who scan the actors and put them in compromising positions will be going nuts over the promotional pics. (I really hate that kind of image manipulation, I'm sorry, it's not cool until the kids are older, and also a) it usually looks really, really bad, and b) There's plenty of drawn-art of the HP characters that looks fantastic and is sexy and isn't something that is sort-of cruel. (well, that's just how I would feel if I were them)) Anyway, it won't be coming to NZ probably, so I won't have to go through the dilemma of, "Ew! Dan Radcliffe having fake-sex!!" and, "Mmmm, Harry Potter/Dan Radcliffe having fake-sex...". Good on him though, talk about breaking your stereotype.

Other news is that DMT_05 is progressing slooowly, but surely. But I only have two weeks before I go now, so my computer will probably be packed up and sent down south like, next week sometime? And I doubt I'll finish the chapter before then so it will be at least another two weeks, if not three coz I've got to get settled in and stuff.

Yeah, on that note, if I don't do another post here before I pack up, love to you all and stuff, I'll catch you once I have, "begun the next stage of (my) life"!!!

Oh and, P.S. Did I mention that my cat has skin-cancer on her nose? Well, the vet thinks so so she's in tonight and tomorrow while they try and burn the cells away with liquid-nitrogen. I am sad and worried about her. :((((

In the UK, the pics of Dan are perfectly aceptable. He's nearly 18, which means he's almost 2 years over the age of consent. He'll more than likely have been sexually active for at least that amount of time, so our society doesn't see anything wrong in a 17 year old doing pics like that. Okay. I'm generalising. Some people won't like it, but I just wanted to point out that in terms of legalities, it's perfectly acceptable. In fact, I think he's very calculated. I believe he knows exactly what he's doing.

I totally don't mind the nudism. That's not my prob. In NZ 16 is the legal age, too. In fact I think it's a really clever move career-wise for Dan and props to him. I'm just personally weirded out because ever since he was like, 13 I've been like, "You must not find children attractive!" so it's hard to get my head around the fact that he's all-growed-up.

I do know what you mean. I despise chan. I just don't read those stories. But I've never had a problem with imagining the characters to be older than they are, you know? Some people seem only to be able to visualise 14 year old Harry, even if you write him as 24 year old.

I can only read chan in really really specific circumstances like when the characters aren't human or something. I have friends who were sexually abused and I just don't think that anyone who says they 'love' someone would take advantage of their innocence. (AH! I must cut off this potentially huge rant now!) For me fandom Harry and canon Harry are totally two different characters so I can mould fandom-Harry to any of my perverted whims with no worries. I just get annoyed when people use pictures of the _real_ people who play the fictional characters, and put them in sexual poses or whatever, because irrespective of legal-age etc, that's not something the actor agreed to and it's unfair.

But that's just what I think. :/
