Okay, I am an evil bitch and I don't pretend not to be, but sorry, Kouri and Karasu need to get a spine and deal. Okay, flaming is bad and I don't think it should be encouraged in any way, but I am so sick of those girls going on big whine rants about stuff. I have really high standards from people who are creators and famous in any way, and especially those on the internet. I think that it is a highly special and privillaged position to be in when you have some kind of Art online, because people are giving you their respect when they read or look at your stuff, and being on the internet gives you a great opportunity to really get into it with your fans and get to know them and stuff. Every famous person is just the same and just as special as any 'normal' person, and being well-liked and respected does not give you the right to go throwing your weight around every time some prick comes along and does something annoying. If you are going to host a community like they do, you have to realise there are going to be some skunks, doesn't mean it has to be a. A big deal, or b. everyone else's problem. I have huge respect for people like Dina Stu over at Pandect, and Leigh Bader from Schism, who when their comics became hugely popular, they were still nice enough to talk to everyone and take part in discussions and stuff coz they know they aren't more special, even though everyone around them treats them like Gods.
Fame is not an excuse for petty behaviour, which isn't precicely what happened and KnK's, but they have that way of whining that really gets on my nerves. There write great fiction, I love the WYWM series, and the Fallen Into Grace series is the best, but I think they are getting to rest on their lorals a bit. Crossing Borders isn't that great. I got to a point where I just stopped reading it because it just goes ooon and oooon and there is NO REAL PLOT! Maybe it develops later, but it sure as hell shouldn't take 20something chapters, which is where I left off. They are not god's gift to the world and they should remember that. Flaming is normal, Deal. With. It. It isn't good, and if I ever said anything I would try and point out positives as well as making critisims, but that is no need to have a big cry.
